Azerbaijan’s social policy aims to ensure the integrity of the social protection system

The social policy pursued by the Azerbaijani government is primarily aimed at ensuring the integrity of the social protection system, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anar Karimov said during his address to the 110th session of the International Organization Labor, reports Azernews.

He noted that this policy serves to create comfortable and transparent access to state social services and to strengthen the social protection of vulnerable groups of the population.

Noting that three social reform packages covering 4 million people have been implemented in the country over the past three years, Karimov said an additional AZN 6 billion ($3.5 billion) has been allocated to reforms.

The Deputy Minister stressed that the large-scale application of innovative solutions in the field of labor and social protection in the country is also a priority.

Additionally, he talked about DOST Centers, which provide 154 social services from a single platform in a seamless and efficient manner.

Karimov also referred to Azerbaijan’s constant efforts as chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement to mobilize global efforts against the pandemic.

Furthermore, he underlined the close cooperation with the International Labor Organization and social partners in the implementation of labor and employment policies in Azerbaijan.
