Industrialists must contribute to social development: Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari said on Saturday that the role of the industrial sector is important to usher in the new era of development and industrialists should also contribute to social development.

The governor was speaking at a program held in Nashik to mark the golden jubilee year of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (MACCIA).

“The role of the industrial sector is important to enter the new era of development. Along with their own progress, industrialists should also contribute to social development,” Koshyari said.

Maharashtra Ministers Chhagan Bhujbal and Balasaheb Thorat, MP Hemant Godse, MPs Devyani Pharande, Dr. Rahul Aher, Collector Gangadharan D, NMC Commissioner Ramesh Pawar, MACCIA Chairman Lalit Gandhi and other dignitaries were occasionally present.

The foundations for sustainable development can be laid in coordination with industrialists, people’s representatives and administrators, the governor said.
Speaking on the occasion, District Custodian Minister Bhujbal said that in addition to industrial development, firm steps should be taken towards environmental balance and a resolution should be made for pollution-free industrial development. in Nashik.

The state government and administration will take steps to implement a “one-stop-shop” system for various government permits for industries, he said.
“There is a great opportunity for industrial growth in northern Maharashtra. If MACCIA uses this opportunity and lays the foundation for agriculture-related industries, Nashik will be on top of the country,” State Revenue Minister Thorat said.
