Jordan and GCC countries discuss joint cooperation on social development in Muscat | World

Ammon News – The Ministry of Social Development (MSD) participated in the 3rd joint working group meeting on Jordan’s cooperation in social development with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the Omani capital of Mucsat.

The meeting focused on updating the detailed Jordan-GCC social development plan, exchanging expertise in the areas of protection and care, in addition to development-based programs, and cooperating to organize related events and workshops, according to an MSD statement.

Discussions also looked at ways to exchange expertise in the areas of social development, particularly care for people with disabilities, in addition to rehabilitation of minors, protection from domestic violence and empowerment of poor families. , the statement added.

To push for future action, Jordan formed a national team to cooperate with the GCC, chaired by MSD General Secretary Barq Damour, who led the Jordanian delegation to the meeting, the ministry said.

In this regard, the team presented an action plan to the GCC to strengthen social development cooperation at all levels and in all programs and highlighted Jordan’s expertise in providing care for people with disabilities, underlines the press release.
