Pakistan and Azerbaijan sign MoU on cooperation in labour, employment and social protection

BAKU, Azerbaijan: Pakistan and the Republic and Azerbaijan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the areas of Labour, Employment and Social Protection at the Ministry of Labor and People’s Social Protection in Baku on May 25, 2022.

The Memorandum of Understanding will promote and facilitate active relations between the two countries in the areas of labour, employment and social protection.

It will also help to strengthen the development of mutually beneficial cooperation by sharing the practices of the parties.

The formation of a joint working group to discuss labor issues was also highlighted during the ceremony.

Azerbaijan accepted the proposal and said it would initiate the formation of a group on the Azerbaijani side after consultation with relevant stakeholders.

The signing of the MoU was decided during a meeting between Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Sajid Hussain Turi and Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan HE Khazar Farhadov at the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis sea ​​and human resources development on May 10, 2022.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding and strengthen cooperation to expand the labor market and issues of mutual concern.
