Qatar and Arab League Secretariat discuss social development programs

Cairo: The Coordinating Committee of the technical cooperation program between the State of Qatar and the General Secretariat of the Arab League met on Thursday at the league headquarters in Cairo and continued for two days.

The Minister of Social Development and Family, HE Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, led the State of Qatar delegation to the meeting, and the Deputy Secretary General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector of the Arab League, HE Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, chaired the General Secretariat’s delegation.

The meeting discussed the programs and initiatives to be implemented at the bilateral level in the sectors of social development and family at the Arab and international levels.

He reviewed the support that the General Secretariat can provide to support the sectors of family development, women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities and productive families, in accordance with the best experiences and international standards of development.

They also discussed international initiatives and multilateral cooperation programs, in particular the joint work in the State of Qatar to host the Fourth World Disability Summit 2028.

They discussed several global initiatives that have direct effects on raising the level of expertise and services provided by the Ministry of Social Development and Family.
