Qatar takes part in the UN meeting on social protection

Qatar participated in a UN high-level meeting held on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on the theme “Partnership for Action: Implementing the Global Accelerator for employment and social protection for just transitions in the complex framework of overlapping crises”.
Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad, in the presence of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
In a speech at the meeting, HE al-Misnad highlighted Qatar’s support for UN efforts on employment and social protection for just transitions. She said that the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani have always given priority to the creation of employment opportunities and social protection aimed at realizing a policy of sustainable development at the national and national levels. international.
She added that Qatar considers human development as one of the four pillars of national growth and prosperity; therefore, the Qatari government has invested in high-quality education and training programs to help citizens keep or change jobs and adapt to green and digital transformations.
She pointed out that the government’s interest goes beyond the institutional career sector to reach the domestic private sector. The Ministry of Social Development and Family has launched the program “From the Fatherland”, through which it provides support services to enable productive families to develop their skills in order to ensure the sustainability of their financial resources.
HE the Minister expressed his pride in Qatar’s continuous efforts which have materialized in the formation of a new legal framework to protect workers’ rights and jobs.
