Social organization working for tribal youth in Harda district receives National Youth Award

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A social organization working for tribal youth in Harda District received the National Youth Award from the Government of India for the year 2017-2018.

Union Sports and Youth Minister Anurag Thakur presented the award at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi to mark International Youth Day on Thursday. The CEO of the organization – Synergy Sansthan – Ajay Pandit received the award.

The organization was founded by three friends Vimal Jat, Ajay Pandit and Vishnu Jaiswal in 2006.

The founding members of the trio come from rural areas. While pursuing a course in social work in Indore, they decided to work for predominantly tribal youth who are often deprived of basic amenities.

The organization works to build the capacity and improve the skills of young people from marginalized and disadvantaged sections of society. It also engages young people in activities related to career development, entrepreneurship, leadership development, gender and inclusion.

It has so far worked for around 20,000 young people and reached over 2,000,000 young people and adolescents through its outreach programs.

“The award is recognition of our work. This definitely energizes our team and gives a boost to our commitment, ”said Vimal Jat who was present during the congratulations program to Free Press by phone.
