The Minister of Social Development and Family meets with UN officials and his counterparts

New York: The Minister of Social Development and Family, HE Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, met with a number of ministers responsible for family and social development, as well as United Nations officials, on the sidelines of her participation in the 66th session of the United Nations Economic Council. and Social Council Commission on the Status of Women. The session takes place in New York.

The Minister met separately with Vice President for Women and Family Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran HE Dr. Ensieh KhazAli; Minister of Women and Protection of Early Childhood of the Republic of Chad, HE Amina Priscille; Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development of the Republic of Uganda, HE Amongi Betty; Minister of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia HE Gatis Eglitis; the Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, HE Liu Zhenmin; UN Women Executive Director HE Sima Bahous; and President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council HE Collen Vixen.

The meetings focused on examining the possibilities of joint cooperation in the social, family and women’s fields, as well as on ways to strengthen them.

The meetings also discussed the main topics on the agenda of the 66th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Council’s Commission on the Status of Women, as well as views on the resolutions and outcomes of the meeting.
