Zamfara and SCI strengthen their social protection policy – ​​Blueprint Newspapers Limited

The Zamfara State Government through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management in collaboration with Seve the Children International has decided to work towards effective and sustainable social protection programs in the state of Zamfara.

The ministry’s commissioner, Fa’ika M. Ahmad, made the assertion while receiving the lead social protection specialist for Save the Children International’s ESPID project in Gusau on Saturday.

Ahmad said the state government under Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle is giving the highest priority to social protection programs thus collaborating with Save The Children International for the proper actualization of the set targets.

The Commissioner described SCI’s support to Zamfara State through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management in capacity building as a great impetus to ensure a sustainable social protection policy in the state.

She called for a more formidable relationship with SCI to ensure a solid foundation for the well-being of displaced people and other vulnerable families.

In her earlier remarks, the Principal Social Protection Specialist, Ms. Pontso Tsoeonyane Gloria, listed the technical supports of SCI aimed at instituting a strong social protection system for the holistic development of vulnerable people.

She expresses her joy at the way the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Zamfara State coordinates social welfare programs in the state.
